IS TECHNOLOGY MAKING US LAZY?????

Maybe 15 years ago a to-do list would have looked like this;
  1. Buy some books from the bookshop
  2. Post the letters
  3. Make a call to Aunt Ann from the phone booth
  4. Go and make the payment for my new bath tub
  5. Go to the bank and make an enquiry about getting a savings account opened

Fast Forward 15 years and this is what you get;

  1. Buy some books online (Amazon precisely)
  2. Send an email and inbox John on Facebook
  3. Send Aunt Ann a message from my BB (or I phone)
  4. Make my payment online for my new bath tub
  1. Log on to my bank's website and get some live assistance

Well this may not be exactly the case for all individuals in our current time but just to capture the technological change that has taken place.

 Now assuming I wake up and get my floors and carpets all cleaned up by my Irobot and since I work from home I get into my home "office" and send across over 500 emails with just a click, make purchases with just a click, get some coffee at the press of a button, even tweet from my fridge, pay all my bills online, get directions to my destination before I even set out and be constantly reminded of upcoming events by my BlackBerry Torch. Ok does that make me lazy? No. Does that make me more efficient? Yes. Less work and more output.

But wait a minute, there is no need for that 30 minute walk to the book store, there is no need to enjoy the breeze while waiting to get into the phone booth and yes the joy of seeing all those lovely faces at the bank. Well who cares after all I work out, I am happily married and I don't need to do any more
"unnecessary" work.

Its absolute freedom. But does that make me lazy in anyway??????????????
