I was amazed when i stumbled on the cost of this usb flash drive or pen drive as some call it. Why will anyone pay $2,800 or $3,500 for a usb flash drive?  Anyway before that check out these funny looking usb flash disks

BACK UP NOW !!!

Must you back up all your data on your Laptop, smartphone or tablet? Answer is no but you need to back up the really important files. To back you files up means that you make copies of files and store them separately.

Well in recent times there are some viruses that have the capability of affecting the master boot record of a hard drive which is likely to cause data loss eventually. Operating systems are likely to fail at one point or the other resulting in a possible data loss.
So are you going to wait till a software installation causes your computer hard disk to crash or causes a major data loss before you back-up? What will you do if your phone goes off and refuses to come on at a time when you need to stay in touch with some friends or clients? Well you can always get a replacement but what of your personal data.

The simplest solution is to back up your computer or phone files. Most phones that come with their pc suite come with a backup feature and for most computers you can back up your data by clicking on system and security and then proceeding to the backup and restore button. Some mobile phone service providers provide backup services for phone contacts and some other phone data.

You might as well want to back up your emails and important messages you may have received on Twitter or Facebook. (Even Google had its fair share of data loss a couple of weeks ago when a massive number of users lost all records of emails in their inbox. Some of the user data was recovered though)

Backup your data now! It is that important if you deem your data important.

Pagers; Are they still in use?

Well some people like me never had the chance to use a pager but only saw others use them. I sat to think about pagers recently and i share with you some of my thoughts.

"A pager is a small telecommunications device that receives (and, in some cases, transmits) alert signals and/or short messages. This type of device is convenient for people expecting telephone calls, but who are not near a telephone set to make or return calls immediately" -http://searchmobilecomputing.techtarget.com/definition/pager

So then my question; Are pagers still in use. I read a few stuff online and it appears pagers are still common with Doctors especially and few other business people. However with the invasion of the handhelds: the PDAs, Smartphone among others, i think pager or beepers as some know it have been pushed into the shadows.

With the rolling out of Android Tablets and Phones all over the place lately, we sure are gonna miss Pagers (Not all of us cos some people still can't let go off them).

PASSWORDS. How often should they be CHANGED?

Well from the little i have read it appears most online security experts advice that you change you passwords at least once every three months.

So must you change your account log in information and passwords every three months? I might just get confused or even forget some of my passwords if i have to change my log in information for my Facebook, Wordpress, MySpace,YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogger, Gmail, as well as the many other affiliate sites i have signed up with so what next?

The experts say it may be safe for you to wait longer but that will depend a great deal on your computer habits with respect to how and where you surf the net.
So the choice is yours but the point is a change of passwords or account log in information is necessary once in a while. If you are having problems recovering you windows password well here is help. Click to to find out how

IS TECHNOLOGY MAKING US LAZY?????

Maybe 15 years ago a to-do list would have looked like this;
  1. Buy some books from the bookshop
  2. Post the letters
  3. Make a call to Aunt Ann from the phone booth
  4. Go and make the payment for my new bath tub
  5. Go to the bank and make an enquiry about getting a savings account opened

Fast Forward 15 years and this is what you get;

  1. Buy some books online (Amazon precisely)
  2. Send an email and inbox John on Facebook
  3. Send Aunt Ann a message from my BB (or I phone)
  4. Make my payment online for my new bath tub
  1. Log on to my bank's website and get some live assistance

Well this may not be exactly the case for all individuals in our current time but just to capture the technological change that has taken place.

 Now assuming I wake up and get my floors and carpets all cleaned up by my Irobot and since I work from home I get into my home "office" and send across over 500 emails with just a click, make purchases with just a click, get some coffee at the press of a button, even tweet from my fridge, pay all my bills online, get directions to my destination before I even set out and be constantly reminded of upcoming events by my BlackBerry Torch. Ok does that make me lazy? No. Does that make me more efficient? Yes. Less work and more output.

But wait a minute, there is no need for that 30 minute walk to the book store, there is no need to enjoy the breeze while waiting to get into the phone booth and yes the joy of seeing all those lovely faces at the bank. Well who cares after all I work out, I am happily married and I don't need to do any more
"unnecessary" work.

Its absolute freedom. But does that make me lazy in anyway??????????????
